Board of Directors

Charles Turner, President. Charles grew up in Iowa farm country, became interested in music early, and went on to study vocal music and composition at the University of Iowa and U Mass Amherst.  After working for a food purveyor for a while, he discovered computers and embarked upon a career as an embedded systems software engineer and sometimes manager, working for companies such as Analogic (data acquisition instruments and a mammography machine), Analog Devices (cell phone software), and Varian (ion implanter simulation).

Charles is married and lives in Danvers, Massachusetts. He is active in his church, sings in two choral groups in the Boston area, and composes a lot of music. He also enjoys playing tennis and petting his cat, though not simultaneously.
Lisa Rosenthal, Treasurer. Lisa currently serves as Associate Director of the Workplace Giving Alliance. She helps to coordinate the review of national and local CFC applications and advises member charities on how they may comply with campaign requirements. She also contributes to research on the CFC and other policy issues in the philanthropic sector.

Before joining the WGA team in 2011, Lisa was a research associate for the Economic Development Assistance Consortium in Boston where she helped research and edit grants for non-profit organizations involved in low-income neighborhood revitalization projects. She graduated from Harvard Divinity School in May 2011 with a Master of Theological Studies, focusing on religion, ethics and politics. She graduated from College of the Atlantic in 2009 with a B.A. in Human Ecology.

When she isn’t immersed in the CFC, Lisa attends law school at the University of Maine. She enjoys spending time in the outdoors, exploring New England towns, and sailing on the Chesapeake Bay.
